They are designed to monitor and control the temperature within the Server Rack to ensure smooth and safe operations. Apart from offering power-saving, noise reduction and fan life enhancing features, they also serve as effective safety device that protect the expensive hardware and software in the rack from possible damage due to temperature over-shoots or power related failures.

The instrument has a built-in semi-conductor temperature sensor which provides a continuous and accurate measurement of the temperature inside the panel. The operator may set a high temperature limit level. The actual temperature measured by the instrument is continuously compared with the set temperature and an Alarm Relay will operate when the set temperature is exceeded.

All operative conditions are also displayed by LEDs on the front panel of the instrument. The status of each of the two fans are indicated by bicolor Green/Red LEDs which indicate an open-circuit condition. A third LED is provided to give a ready visual indication of an Alarm condition. When the internal temperature within the Rack is less than 50OC, a Green LED shall be ON, Whereas, when the internal temperature is greater than 50OC, a Red LED shall be ON and the Green LED shall go Off. The instrument operates directly on 230 VAC Mains power.
